Is in store B&M, is USB 3.0 external..but the disk inside is the same.

I saw the Costco HDD for $130 and was tempted but this is really better bc you aren't going to pay taxes (plus you have to pay taxes on the pre-rebate price). That means at 9% sales tax rate you are going to pay:
$14.4 taxes
$130 price after instant rebate
$144.40
The $5 you saved is not going to be worth it bc of the voided warranty and all the time you spend cracking these cases open.

All these drives are 7200 rpm 64k cache, I have one from 6 month ago open the casing and use in my desktop for storage, same specs.

You have to keep in mind that your operating system won't recognize the bare drive and ask to format the drive if you do that in Win 7 they make two partitions because windows 7 limitation on MBR partition size 2.1TB.
But you can change the MBR system to GPT and the WIN7 System recognized the whole 3 TB partition. Use any application like Acronis or Mini partition wizard home editions that are free

My previous Seagate drives both died just outside the warranty. My WD drives are humming along nicely with 5 year warranties. One died recently and WD quickly replaced it with a new one.
