Motorola SB6121 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem w/ 1yr Protection Plan $31.48 STAPLES B&M YMMV

Just got back from Staples to use a $25 off $75 coupon on a Motorola SB6121 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem thinking ill be paying around $60-$65. Came out paying only $31.48 for it in Virginia. Might be very YMMV.

Retail $99.99 - $10.00 Instant rebate = $89.88 price tag
used the $25 off $75
then the sales rep says he has another coupon i can use. happens to be a 50% off a single item Expiring 6/30/12 and knocked down another -$45 but added a $9.99 1 year protection plan (didnt ask for the protection plan but im assuming its part of the 50% off??)

Ended up paying $31.48 after taxes

Any word on this 50% off coupon? I've only seen 20% as highest percentage. Was there a dollar limit to that? Thinking it could be abused on a $1000 computer since it seemed to work on a tech item anyway unless it specifically excludes computers.
