Steps to verify funding bank account for fresh/new AMEX prepaid card owners:
1. go to: www.americanexpress.com/prepaid
2. then click on "Set Up Account"; these are near the "Log In" buttons
3. on the next screen, select the appropriate choice between 2 options
4. complete the required info and you should be good to go



A "Card Purchaser" can order/have up to three cards, one for each "Card User".
One who orders a card is a "Card Purchaser", not a "Card User".
The name that appears on the card is a "Card User".
It is true that if you order a card for yourself, you would be both a "Card Purchaser" and a "Card User".

The limit is 3 GC per "Card Purchaser".
The limit is 1 GC for a named "Card User".
Nowhere does it say limit of 1 per "Card Purchaser".

Amex wants the birth date of the "Card User".
Amex wants both the SSN and birth date of the "Card Purchaser".

"load" vs "transaction": You must load $200 or more by 6/30/2012. When you go to Account Details, there is "Load Funds". The act of loading $200 occurs when you click on "Load Funds". The act of loading $200 is not the same as American Express finally depositing the loaded amount onto your card. The date that American Express finally deposits the loaded amount is the "transaction" date, and can be seen under "View Transaction History". The two events are different, occur at different times, and correspond to different actions by different parties.
