Advice on some PS3 Games please..

What about cartoony shooting games like Ratchet & Clank?

the playstation network has a plethora of cheaply priced games that fit the more creative feel you're seeking...Flower, Journey, Flow, Auditorium, any of the games in the PixelJunk series, Braid, From Dust. These are more mini-games that can be beaten in a matter of hours or a day so they may not have much replay value but they're definitely a more mature, creative, atmospheric game that you seem to seek out. Most of them can be had for under $10 so you can't go wrong

Flower is great. Braid is one of the best games I've ever played (though if you don't like puzzles you may not like it). Try Littlebigplanet or Littlebigplanet 2.

I like puzzle games, but I didn't care for Braid.

braid didn't really hold my attention either.
Valkryai Chronicles is a cell shaded strategy game, but it does involve killing, so although i recommend it, maybe not until he's closer to 14-15?
I haven't actually played it though, so i've no idea how greusome it is, although i doubt it is much at all. But again, I dont' actually know
The Lego's games are a pretty solid choice as well..
The Prince of Persia game is also a possibility. You do fight, but it's mostly evil creatures, and it's more about exploration and such.
Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom is also a pretty kid friendly adventure game.
check these out for yoruself. Also, all of these i listed are able to be obtained for $20 or less if you look pretty easily!

If he likes adventure and creativity he will Love Lilbigplanet, it's hours and hours of gameplay

if you're getting a littlebigplanet game, get 2, it made the first obsolete. it's also available for free with psn+ this month.

i'd recommend 3d dot game heroes, and the atelier series. all rated t or e, and are good games.

Thank you! Yes these types of games are what I am looking for..he has played Flower, From Dust.and Journey..Flow ..he is excited about the other titles! I do know what you mean about beating the game so quickly...nickle and diming me to death...lol..
