I'm a lactation consultant. I don't recommend this pump unless you are only wanting a pump for light, infrequent use & you already have a well established milk supply. If you are a working mom who needs to pump more than once per day you really need a double electric personal pump such as an Ameda Purely Yours, Medela Pump in Style or Hygeia EnJoye. If you are trying to establish or increase your milk supply, especially in the first month you need to rent a hospital grade breast pump. Those all cost more than the pump in this thread but they're all far cheaper than formula.

And sadly, pumps for cows are WAY better than pumps for humans thanks to the dairy industry. A cow would probably not appreciate this pump if you tried it on her;-)

Hi.. i am not sure i understood your statement regarding "..a double electric personal pump such as..". Isn't the Avent in the OP a "double electric pump"? Or are you saying "The Ameda/Medela/Hygeia double electric pumps are better than the Avent double electric pump?
