I don't know about you guys, but I'm in the wilkes barre/scranton area of pennsylvania and virgin mobile has some of the slowest data I've ever seen. It's ridiculous and almost unusable. I just use wifi instead of it.

VM isn't too bad here in KC. Just ran a speedtest on my Optimus V and got 1624/766, which happened to be faster than a friends test with actual Sprint service.

Hello my fellow slickdealers -I know this is a little off topic- But my two years with sprint is up next month- I’m tired of paying the $170 a month for my wife and I- I’m thinking that smart talk or virgin would be the cheapest. A couple questions.. Right now we have 2 evo’s- can we keep the same phone and just switch it to a new provider? If not then id have to purchase 2 new phones- and advice on what to do would be appreciated. I’m a newb at this-

T-Mobile has unlimited 4G up to certain GB which is clearly documented. All other carriers either has limit (explicit or implicit limit) or throttling your speed. In this case, Virgin Mobile will drastically throttle your usage if you go over certain limit (2.5GB). Also, when you check the carriers, need to check the coverage also. A lot of MVNO carriers don't have roaming agreement so most of those carriers will only work on one network. While if you get from the BIG 4 (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile), they usually have good roaming agreement. For example, if you have Sprint, you can roam on Verizon network. So you get both Sprint and Verizon Voice network coverage. But for Virgin Mobile, it only work on Sprint network. The pics show some sample coverage for Virgin Mobile and Sprint
