I have the 128gb M4 (owned for 2 months so far) and no WIN BSOD or MAC Kernel Panic.

Yeah, I just got a Lenovo x220, which I just tried to put my 128gb Crucial m4 into, and found that it wouldn't fit. After a few seconds of research, it turns out 7mm height drives are new AND they haven't been going on sale like the other drives (including the one I picked up thinking I'd put it in my new laptop).
Since these are pretty new, I'm not expecting to save the extra $15 anytime soon. If anybody else is trying to hold out, the Samsung 830 has better performance and there is a 7mm model available.
Just checked and back to $218.99. I kept this in my "save for later" bin and checked everyday, so perhaps it will drop again soon.
