$25 redemption once a year is pretty chinsy. They are going to lose a lot of the customers from this.

After the 5% bill pay category was eliminated, the $25 bonus was the only reason I was still using this card. After July 1st it goes in the "dead to me" box. It was by far the best card in existence for a short time.

Just got an email to select cash back categories for July-September. The choices appear to be the same as the current quarter.

Also, for those of you with prepaid cell phone plans, Callingmart counts for the Cell Phone category.

Between the bill pay category and the 1.25% back, this was my favorite card. Now both with be gone soon. Oh well.

I was just reading about this card in another thread and my interest was piqued until I saw it was US Bank. I applied for the REI VISA 1-2 months ago and received a letter from them requesting that I call them in order to validate some information. I called several times and each time there were no representatives available despite the fact that it was within their stated normal business hours. The last time that I called, I got a message that the number was no longer in service - but it was a recording made by US bank themselves, not the phone company. I tried going to their website to find an alternate contact number but didn't see one. At that point, I had already gotten sick of dealing with them before ever even speaking to them.

as long as there is no cap on 5% this card is still of use, I have yet to receive (thankfully) any news about that from them yet. hopefully never

Not a good card anymore...this has already been consigned into the drawer!
