Not receiving email alerts
Hi guys/girls, I'm having issue with not receiving any email alerts at all. The problem started today and I did not change any settings at all, here on SD nor on my email account. I've checked the settings on both sides and I can't find anything wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks, folks. Mine were in my spam folder too. Should have looked there first instead of spending the last 20 minutes trying to figure out what the heck was going on...
I wonder if SD can somehow alert Google that their emails really aren't spam? That's got to be brutal to have all your emails to every gmail user all getting trashed simultaneously... |

If you mark the alerts in your Gmail Spam folder as "Not Spam", Gmail may display a pop-up asking you to send the messages to the anti-spam team to improve their spam filter. Presumably if enough people do this that may fix it. Although they should never have allowed this issue in the first place. People get phishing emails that purport to be from Amazon, too - are Amazon emails next for the spam bin?

My deal alerts also stopped on June 6-7. They were NOT in my SPAM folder. They were not in my Trash folder. I simply was not receiving them anymore.
Then the light dawned as to why. I have several email accounts and forward mail to my central gmail account. One of the forwarding accounts is the one I use here on slickdeals.net. And it had started routing all my deal alerts to SPAM. Mail messages routed to SPAM in the forwarding account will never be forwarded. So, if you are using mail forwarding, make sure the addresses from which you are forwarding are not routing the alerts to SPAM, or the forwarding account will never forward them. |
