Good deal on high prescription glasses

My prescription is 8.50 and 8.25. I usually wear contacts and don't care what the glasses or frames would look like (weight or thickness etc) since I seldom bother with glasses.

Tried the Coastal special with code and it was like $60 bucks out the door.

Zenni is looking good at around $32 bucks shipped (would like to see if there is a code around though).

I have my prescription and PD handy. Price wise, I am not too far off from being able to just get frames and lenses from my local eye doctor with my current prescription.

Ideas?

have you tried www.goggles4u.com ? ive gotten alot of glasses there.

I also have a horrible vision, so I always order the 1.61 high index lenses, otherwise my glasses would be coke bottle. I have purchased glasses from many different online stores, Zenni’s high index lenses are the most inexpensive ones. If your prescription is strong, Zenni Optical would be the best choice.

Thanks guys...may stick with Zenni and wait until there is a promo out. Tried goggles for you and they don't go past -8.00 regardless of the lens type.

Coastalcontacts.com is a good company. They send good product. Goggles4u.com is a major major rip off!!! Do Not Waste your money!!!!

Unfortunately coastal doesn't support my strong cylindrical number. Goggles4u does.

I'm also coke bottle lens wearer (8 & 7.50). I use Zenni and buy the cheap frames. I have about 10 pr. of glasses for the price Sears or Pearle or Penney's would charge for one pair. (Sunglasses, readers and distance).

Thanks guys...settled on Zenni. I didn't buy anything fancy this time around...I am going to let my cokes shine and if I like them I might get another thinner set...not that self conscious though where it bothers me that my lenses are thick....but thick lenses or tight frames make my face go numb.

Are you sure...I just ordered a -8.50 off of them....don't have my prescription in front of me but the cylinder refers to prescription strength right?

They go up high on spherical but not cylindrical.

Gotcha, I guess where to go is a tossup depending on your prescription. Oh well at least we all have options that aren't as bad as getting hosed paying full retail.
