What wall mount and hdmi cable should I get?
I bought the LG 47in 3d tv, and I want to update my hdmi cable. Mine is really old although it works. I also want to mount it over my fireplace. What Hdmi cable should I get and what slim wall mount? Thanks for any help.

As an addendum to what is written above, make sure that the HDMI cable is labeled as "HIGH SPEED".

Don't get a cheap "high speed" HDMI cable. Specifically, don't get the Amazon branded one! I bought 3 and all 3 failed. I'd say spend at least $25 on the cable.

If there is nothing wrong with the Old HDMI cable, it doesnt need to be replaced. If you dont need the new spec, or new features like ethernet then I would not replace it. That being said, if you are going to buy your mount from Monoprice (Which I recommend) then their cables are cheap enough it wont hurt to grab one. It is always nice to have an extra on hand.

BTW: The failure manifests itself with the image disappearing during use. It may or may not come back. We had this on two different bluray players and 1 HD FIOS box to three different devices (projector, plasma tv and receiver). Same disappearing image with the cheap amazon cables. After replacing the cables the problem went away. All 3 were the same and advertised as "high speed" cables.

Sure, old cables will suffice.
However, another thing to consider is colored cables. I recently color coded all HDMI devices in my living room and it's really easy to figure out which devices are attached to what. E.g. Green for Xbox 360, White for Mac Mini, Blue for Blu-Ray. I also color coded my network devices with Cat 5e cables. |

Thanks for all the help. Yes my old cable does not have eithernet. I am still not sure about mounting it over my fireplace. If it will be to hot. We do use it in the winter in upstate ny. Also if it will be to high to enjoy the 3d on the tv.
