Help with finding cell phone plan

My wife's 2 yr contract with T-mobile has ran out this month. She currently has a MyFavs plan with 1000 mins and 1000 text messages and no data. Total monthly cost is $52.71 per month (using a 10% corporate discount).

We would like to add data to this plan and upgrade her phone (She has an Optimus T right now). What would be the best way to go? She isn't used to data so she doesn't need a lot or 4G speed. Should she just add the TMo unlmited plus plan and upgrade the phone? (I am willing to buy an unlocked SII or SIII if it is cheaper that way). Or do we switch carriers or plans? TMo and ATT are what work in our area. Would a Walmart Family Talk or Straight Talk plan be the way to go?

There are so many options and add ons these days it makes my head spin when I start looking. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I think Straight Talk may be the best of the bunch, as you can choose which backbone you want your service on (AT&T or T-Mobile), which ever has the best signal/quality in your area. Since there are no contracts you can either use your existing GSM phone or purchase your own with good deals on craigslist.

I'm currently on the Walmart Family plan paying $95/mth + tax for 3-lines of service with unlimited Voice & text (although they giving free web for a short period to entice us into upgrading to their unlimited Web plan at additional cost).

There is Monthly 4G plan with unlimited minute, text and data for $60 per month. All you need is to get a smartphone. This is probably better deal if you are looking for that option.

She can use the optimus V for virgin mobile (around 120 for the phone) and then use the
1200mins /unlimit text and unlim data for 45month plan

I would skip over the optimus V though and upgrade to something a little newer like the lg optimus elite for around 150 for the phone.

You can return it within 30days for a full refund. (minus the first month of use payment)

Who offers the plan you are refering to?

The easiest thing you can do since you are out of a contract is to stay with T-Mobile. If you call customer care and ask them to migrate your account to Monthly 4g. They may just charge you for the first months bill.

Monthly 4g is a month to month pre-paid service that T-Mobile offers. Plans go as followed;

$50 Unlimited Talk, Text and Web (First 100 MB of data up to 4G Speed*
$60 Unlimited Talk, Text and Web (First 2 GB of data up to 4G Speed
$70 Unlimited Talk, Text and Web (First 5 GB of data up to 4G Speed

These plans work with any T-Mobile phones. Only difference between this plan and the contract is the billing, no discount on any phones. Which means you will have to pay full price for any phone. Same service, you will not notice any change in service.

For example. If you do decide to go with the $50 plan. Say you use up the 100 MB after a week, the web will still working but instead of 3G speeds, they will slow it down to 2G. Not as fast but still unlimited.

I agree that getting ONE free smartphone is not worth a contract. However, getting 3-5 latest greatest smartphone IS WORTH it....so, depends on your needs.

Not really sure what to do with my family plan too, I have tmobile

Blackberry data for 1 line = $20.00
Taxes = ~17

We pay about 167.96 each month. What should I look into to lower our monthly bill?

Basically 1 line needs data for sure, there is another line that may start to use data.

I may be want to get the GS3 so will tmobile require me to upgrade my plan to the new classic plans they offer?
