Why would someone buy a bigger saw like a 12" when the 10" sliding can cut more? Is cost the only reason? thanks. |

Maybe if the 10" slides, but a 10" that does not slide will not be able to cut full wider boards like crown. And yes cost is a big reason, have you seen the prices of a sliding 10" saw of similar quality?

very tempting....i was looking to get a DeWalt miter, but it's hard to beat this price. Obviously it's not the same quality, but for just a home-owner working on projects I'm sure this would be fine. How does this compare to Craftsman, Ryobi, others of this price range....

I have a Skill table saw and its nice. It gets the job done but it doesn't have the options of my old craftsman....
Btw this is an awesome deal! I just ran into the same problem with some crown molding  hmm.... I know I shouldn't but man its such a good deal!

Got last year's 10" for $60 on clearance a while back, good saw. Price on the 12 is quite good, if I didn't already have the new 10 I'd go for it.

harbor freight has their 10 inch sliding miter saw on sale for $90 with a 20% off coupon it comes out to $72. I picked one up earlier in the week.
