Maybe if the 10" slides, but a 10" that does not slide will not be able to cut full wider boards like crown. And yes cost is a big reason, have you seen the prices of a sliding 10" saw of similar quality?

very tempting....i was looking to get a DeWalt miter, but it's hard to beat this price. Obviously it's not the same quality, but for just a home-owner working on projects I'm sure this would be fine. How does this compare to Craftsman, Ryobi, others of this price range....
