U.S. buying more helicopters from firm supplying Syria The Pentagon has notified Congress of plans to purchase more helicopters for the Afghan military from Rosoboronexport, the Russian arms dealer labeled by one U.S. senator as "an enabler of mass murder in Syria," officials said on Wednesday. Total value of the 12-aircraft sale, including engineering services and spare parts, is $217.7 million, the Pentagon told Republican Senator John Cornyn in response to a question. 1st question- Is this purchase in addition to the billions of dollars in aid we already provide? 2nd question- Since the US gov likes to give tax payer dollars to our "friends" overseas, why did that not ask a US company to provide the helicopters? 3rd question- Did Mrs Clinton not recently complain about them selling copters to Syria? |

Only possible reason I can think of, is the US gov does not want it's military technology to fall into the wrong hands? (Although I seriously doubt this is the reason, since the US provided fighter jets to Saudi Arabia and M1A1 battle tanks to Iraq) More likely reason- political "favors" traded between US and Russia. |
