How are onkyo refurbs?

I got a 509 about 2 months ago so far solid.

Right, but regular price of refub is $499,17% of that is is of 84.83, or down to $429 like paolo80 said, where is the additional discount that gets you down to 356?

It it possible sale started early already and we are seeing the price after 17% discount, which is 429?

So I guess the questions is do we really get 17% off from that price is just from non club specials section....

Edit 2. Alright this ain't happening. I hope I'm wrong, but 429 is the already discounted price after the 17% off. If you just go to outlet it shows 499. The banner sais Club Onkyo discount, and on Club specials page it's already 429 so that is the sale price.

Again I hope I am wrong and I can wake up to $356 NR709 for fathers day....

Edit 3: The banner says ALL refubs, and stuff that is NOT in club specials like 809 is still showing up full refub price in cart without discount so there is still hope...now I gotta get some sleep, been researching the heck out of 709 since I got this deal alert and for the price it's a steal. If it's still $429, I might jump anyway as it's good price and I've been looking for a good receiver for over a year and half.

How does the s-3400 compare to the Samsung ht-6500 in terms of sound quality? I know the Samsung system comes with blueray and I care less about it.
