Bought the R609 for $238.17 shipped ($299.00 - $50.83 - $10). I have been looking for a good deal on a 7.1 entry level receiver. One of the best prices I have seen. Seems like Onkyo referbs are pretty solid.

That was it! Even though I was logged in, the promo code wasn't there. When I put it in, it dropped the price to 346.07 after 17% and 10 onkyo points for the 709.

I purchased one onkyo refurb tx-sr304 in 2005, then in 2006 it had problems, dropped it off at the local repair center and onkyo shipped the parts needed to be replaced and fixed it for free, turn around time was 2 weeks and worked great till 2009

i then sold it and looked for an upgrade, purchased another onkyo refurb tx-sr506 and it was working great until last month when the hdmi channel kept going on and off randomly. i went online and checked avsforum and some people had problems with the capacitors on the hdmi switching board. since it was out of warranty and i was too lazy to open it and fix it myself, I purchased a Marantz NR1402, haven't hooked it up yet but hope to get many more years out of it than these onkyo. (3yr warranty + 1yr credit card warranty). I still love onkyo though, the quality/fit/finish is way better than any budget receiver.

I've been a loyal Onkyo & Integra owner for the past twenty years. My last purchase was the Integra DTR-7.1 that has served faithfully for over a decade - I spent close to $1k for it. The time has come where I needed something with HDMI - so I'm in for one of the 709's @ $346.07

Okay, have been waiting forever and finally pulled the trigger. $238.17 shipped. Now, should I call back and add the 2 year warranty through Onkyo or add a 2 year through Strade for $43 including a 30% discount?
