These pillows say for decoration only on the tag. I would think it would be okay for an older baby/child to play with, though.

you would be surprised to know how most toys have lead it but doesn't state it because it is not required I guess. What I know it is used for is to make colors more vibrant....but I. Sure it has many more properties. From the little that I know, the Consumer Product Safety Commission tests every product that will be sold in the US and will not accept things that do not meet regulatory standards. Recalls are mainly based on accidents that were reported after it was released for sale. for the lead I assume there are lead standards for % content and for how much leaches so what makes it out is safe according to current standards and everyone knows lead exposure is nothing to be messed with. Last I checked a while ago, the CPSC standard for associated with what a child would ingest was based on content after contact with some solution but I have read that Canada for example dissolves a sample completely for their associated content. Not sure whether that has changed or not but I'd rather it be based on dissolving a sample because we all know toys have missing chunks when our LOs teeth .... Well and beyond ![]() another example that bothers me with what toys make it to the US but were banned in other countries....you know those puzzle pieces mats to put on the floor? Well many are banned in Europe/Canada because of certain chemicals in them used as fire retardent and just the composition in general but are sold here. http://www.safbaby.com/the-latest...-your-baby is all I can find right now |

Yes. My husband took the bumper off just to wash it. When the baby woke up, he dislocated his elbow when he was four months old. His arm got stuck between the slats and then he flipped on it.That is why bumpers are needed. Most kids will be fine. The dislocation is not considered a major problem on kids. It pops right back into place. But it's a scary experience and why take the chance. Although most kids will never experience this, thousands of kids go through this. |

Oh gosh, thanks for sharing your story. I'd never thought of elbow dislocaton! Always thought the worst could happen is bumping her head. Guess I'll buy a mesh bumper later. |
