Hi. I have been pricing around the market and noticed other companies are significantly cheaper. MetroPcs offers $50 unlimited everything and I am leaning towards switching over to them for the savings. I want to know if there are any incentives available to help me have a reason to stay.
If they mention ETF, say you would wait for your contract to end or paying the ETF to switch will save you money in the long run over staying with AT&T with your current bill.
Here is what to expect for those that are like me and nervous asking for things...
I called 611 then hit 1 then hit 7 then whatever number service cancelations was.
Then I told the lady "I have some friends that are using a local carrier and getting $50 unlimited everything and I'm wondering if there any incentives or promotions to reduce my bill."
She said "I understand you want to lower your bill but what carrier was it?"
I said "It's metropcs."
She pulled up some information and said "Are you aware that they throttle data after 2.5 gb of use?"
I said: "well i'm not worried about that because I have wifi at work and wifi at home."
She said "They also are only local calls for the unlimited calls. Long distance will be additional."
I said "Yeah, we also looked into virgin mobile and they have roaming charges but we don't really make long distance calls or leave our area."
She then asked "Is this for both lines that are considering leaving?"
I said "Yeah both lines would be transferring."
Then she came back and offered the promotion.

yep, I did the same. They gave me the same offer, I took it but said I wanted more. They gave me a $100 credit. Then I did something else online - sorry, won't tell what - and they did it yet again. I enjoyed 2 or 3 months of free service, then went my way to h2o and straight talk.
I parted with at&t after 10 years of uninterrupted service - still kind of with them (their network), but for about half the price. |

Wow that was simple. Rep offered me free messaging for 6 months OR dropping the messaging plan to $20 a month. I took the $10 drop as after 18 months I will start seeing more savings.

I have a family plan and paying around 110$ per month. i still have 6 months of contract left with AT&T.... Any suggestions is appreciated...10x... |

What number or who do you ask for when calling? I also have four lines in my family plan and was looking at T-mobile prepaid.

I have 5 lines on a family plan. Unlimited txt/call - $30 700 minutes - however much it costs It comes to $150 a month. Do competitors have lower prices? I feel like that will screw over my argument, by not being true. Last edited by dealnewb; 06-14-2012 at 12:09 PM.. |

He put me on hold and then offered the free ult messaging. Done. Funny enough i asked the rep about the shared data plans to come and said his department is always the last to know...lol and hadent heard anything. |
