Before the DLP opinions start flying, let me say that I've had the 65 inch Mitsubishi DLP for a couple of years now and ...
I'm very happy with the picture quality and the viewing angle (and I'm pretty picky).
Screen brightness is good, although I pull the shades when there is direct sunlight in the next room. I get some reflection on the screen that is a annoying. Other than that, I'm happy with the brightness.
Still has the original bulb even though the TV is on a lot. The only complaint is that sometimes when I turn it on, the picture turns red and is "zoomed in" by about 10%. Returns to normal usually fairly soon. I have no idea what is doing this.
I have an Xbox, PS3, PC, and an antenna connected directly to the inputs in the back.

What a great deal on a net set. I got this exact same model 3 months ago refurbished from TD and I absolutely LOVE it. The fact that it has a wide base is something that people might have trouble getting used to but the picture quality is fantastic. 3D is spectacular on it as well.

I'll gladly second all of this. I have Wii, PS3, Digital Cable, PC all hooked up to my 73c9 and color is great. No rainbows, no blur, nice and sharp. I've had mine for 2 years with original bulb. I don't get the red and zoomed in issue, but there's definitely a 1-2 minute warm up time once the picture appears. You'll really only notice if you're picky - mine looks slightly dim and yellowish and slowly warms up to proper bright color over 60-90 seconds or so. That's the worst thing I can say about it - great TV if you have the 16-18" of depth to spare (since everyone whines about non-"flat" TVs nowadays).

I'm all for this. $100 cheaper and I probably would have snagged it up today. Glad I didn't... wife would absolutely kill me.

They ever correct their %%#%^#%$#^% board issue which results in white spots all over the place. The overall consensus with Mitsubishis are they are great TVs when they work, but their customer service is as bad.

Not an expert, but I think I read while researching that the issue primarily affected 2009 models and has since been fixed.

Don't worry... as worthless as the mitsubishi internet apps are, they may as well not be there at all.

You want one of the 73640 deals for around $900-950. Sometimes they go below that, but not often. The 740 is more expensive.

Yes it has. There were some defective DLP chips 3+ years ago, nothing that would be in any current product offerings, even if they've been sitting in the store for a long, long time.

I have a 65" Mitz DLP and it's FANTASTIC. In 3 years I only replaced the bulb once and Mitz send the new one free. Customer Service was GREAT! The only problem is now I am spoiled, I am thinking about the 73".....measuring the space needed now!
