If it hasnt been said, let me say it - HandyMan Magazine has become garbage!

Use to be a great magazine, I subscribed for 3 yrs, but about 1yr ago the issues started getting slimmer, and product placement ads began replacing content.

Then a few months back they started replacing ads with "product reviews" and now only about a 1/3 of the articles are true articles and of those about 1/2 repeat 1-2 times every 16months.

Digital copies - not sure how you get them with the ipad, but even if that's all you want, this is a great price - let them mail the magazine to you anyway? or mail to a friend that wants the print edition.

Discount mags - I may be causing my own problems. My subscription to family handyman was expiring in 2015, then in early April 2012, discount mags ran a promo like this. I renewed for 4 years - I like to lock in a really good rate - costs are only going to keep going up.

But now, in mid June, family handyman customer service website still shows my 2015 date. Anyone know how long it really takes for discount mags subscriptions to be sent into the publisher and for them to reflect it on their site? I'll call them Monday. But I've had this problem before when magazines can't handle / don't allow you to renew out more than x years. So their system tosses the order, and discount mags doesn't know / care to credit me back / let me know.

Great prices though for all those mags and thank you to SD and everyone here for helping us save money!!!

I can only go by my own experience but I think the time it takes for a renewal (or new sub) to show up depends on a lot on the publisher of the magazine, as well as where you get it. I find that renewals to my Dh's family handyman sub seem to take awhile to show up, no matter where I get it. Honestly, I'd probably just wait a full 12 or 14 weeks, and then I'd call the magazine to see if they had any record of an extension to my sub...and then contact CS at DM if necessary. But again, that's just me...and my experience. Good luck!

We get a LOT of magazines, and thankfully we've not had the problem with magazines not letting us extend current subs. Some of my magazines have renewal dates in 2022, 2024 etc
