Hi OP. If I was in your shoes and wanted to keep it low cost and no car I'd hit Chicago, Boston or NYC this time of year. Going subtropical seems kind of a waste to me when (even Seattle) weather is OK-ish. All are great cities and you can find decent, cheap room rates if you look around. (We're headed to NY this weekend for a super cheap, quick vacation.)

![]() I really liked Key West, at least based on an 8 hour port stop on a cruise. Looked into taking a vacation there for a week - hotels were too expensive. And we've talked about taking a trip to Atlantic City - last time I was there was in 1978, just after the casinos started to open. |

My favorite hobby while there is to sit on Jackson Square or in one of the local coffee houses and people watch.
