Waterproof Camera Died - Where to go?
I bought a Kodak Playfull [kodak.com] from Best Buy ~ 6months agoMy camera died while on vacation, and I suspect water poisoned it. My question is, what is standard protocol in this situation? I don't have any the of the packaging, but I suspect I can have Best Buy reprint the receipt. Who do I deal this broken product through: Best Buy? Kodak? My credit card (Amex)? I will usually REP you for worthwhile replies.
Slickdeals I can remember so far. Magnavox 42" 1080p $546 OTD (crossing my fingers that it's not crappy) Amazon GCs: $20 so far, Hyundai test drive $50, Mazda $25, Amex 75K points (~$750GC), $300GC CC for Vonage signup, WD Mybook 250GB = $20AR, that's all I remember for now. |

BB can reprint the receipt and I would start with kodak
I got comparisons coming out my ears and she never can hit the pause

Kodak filed for bankruptcy. Good luck trying to get the repair. Also, many "waterproof" cameras aren't warrantied against water damage. Yes. It's sad.
Get a receipt. Attempt to get warranty through Kodak. If they fail to repair your camera or respond to your request, file a claim with Amex. You'll may need to provide Amex with documentation of your warranty claim. |

Well it depends you also need to make sure all the door gaskets are good etc... I would start with Best Buy and see what they will do you can talk to them in person and they might do an upgrade to a better camera. Then contact your credit card, I would contact Kodak last as they will want you to ship the camera to their repair center that is going to say that it was operator error or you went below 10 feet so it is not a warranty item. They might offer a flat rate exchange for like 50.00 they just send you a refurbished camera and call it good?
