Refurb Samsung 7 Series, i7 Quad Core, 6GB RAM, HD6490M, 1600x900 - 670$

great deal, too bad only a 15.6" screen. I really wish 16.3" screens were more prevalent, good medium between this and a 17"

Nice specs...if it was sub $600 I'd be all over this.
Can't find where it states BL KB...reviews from Amazon state that it does not have this feature?

Lol - the whinings never stop. People usually cry over;

- no hdmi
- little ram
- no dedicated graphics
- no backlit keyboards
- resolutions of or below 1366 x 768
- battery life
- windows not being 64bit
- and the list goes on.

When this one comes to satisfy most of the concerns, you're crying over 15" of screen - which is generally the most popular screen size in laptops.

yea me too lol 600 seems like a sweet spot i wouldn't mind paying that and not feeling bad about it a year or two from now. the 300$ lenovos are alright but lacking in a lot of aspects, but for 300$ why not!

I might pick this up w/ a local deal off craigslist for under 600 though, would be pretty happy .

haha i haven't seen a single laptop in the lenovo outlet with a quad core i7/discrete graphics/higher quality screen... for people who need power, this would definitely perform.

How do you buy used laptops like that? Do you like reformat them then or something? The thought never crossed my mind but got me interested now. I am guessing lots of desperate souls trying to get rid of their machines and you could strike a bargain.

Yeah there actually was.

They had i7s with discrete graphics for like $330 to $350 on the first night it went live.

Granted, those were probably price mistakes and may never be shipped.

I'm not sure how much memory the discrete graphics card had, but it was definitely a really good deal if they shipped.

I've always been interested in Samsung laptops. If they priced themselves like HP, I'd bite. If anyone is able to bring the cost on a laptop down, it should be them.

They make laptop memory, hard drives, displays, and optical drives. What's left to outsource?

Yea i have a windows 7 professional dvd that i install on any used pc that i buy/also have OSX in case I pick up a mac.

I also make sure I get the receipt and box for warranty reasons, this samsung is only a month old and she has the receipt for 1200$ lol, crazy that people are willing to take such a loss.

I saw them but the screen resolution is weak, and battery life/form factor is a bit bulky for my tastes. EDIT: nvm about the processor

I agree that they could make cheaper laptops but the 3 series is around 300-500 with around the same build quality and fat, plasticky laptops you can buy with HP/Lenovo. The 7 series is meant to compete with the 15" macbook pros due to form factor battery life and performance.

the only one i had my eyes on was the u400 but i couldn't get in on it!
