35/35 FiOS connection turns into 10/2 through PS3..

I don't understand this and why it's happening. I pay for 35/35 FiOS high speed internet, and I'm only seeing a 10/2 connection (give or take) through my PS3.

What gives? I'm not paying for all this speed to not see it through my PS3, that's why I got such a high plan..

Is this PS3 specific? How about your PC?

Are you using wired or wireless connection?

IF PC is fine then check the following ports

PS3-specific; my PC speedtests at 40/36 sometimes. Wired connection on the PS3.

put the ps3 into the dmz and try running the test again. also try using the browser to run the test from speedtest.net and see if it differs from the integrated test in the xmb settings menu.

Other alternative
Try

Reset PS3 wired connection or manually go in an config it
Plug your PS3 cable to your PC and see any speed difference
Change to wireless and see if it makes any difference
A different cable
A different ethernet port
A different router/switch

Current customer will be charged $10-$15 more because they will be bumping subscriber speed

If someone can help me figure out how to open the danged ports on FiOS, much obliged. Speedtest is giving me 43/29 tonight and still 11/2 on the PS3..

He might not be using SpeedTest.net on his PS3 actually.

When you go into Connection Settings, you can test your connection to the PSN servers and it will give you a download/upload speed. I believe it pings the closest PSN servers to you.

Mine are also significantly lower than my speedtest results, but I blame that on the PS3's wifi.

Not until the end of you contract. They are basically phasing out current 25 and 35. Rather odd that they got nothing in between 15 and 50 and no price range to bridge the gap between DSL and FiOS. It is possible to pay $30 for 7-15 Mpbs DSL but 15 Mbps FiOS jumps to $65

Just have them switch you to the 50/25 (which is still faster than what you currently got) unless you are running a server at home.

Yeah, definitely not using Speedtest on my PS3 - it has its own network settings to see your upload/download. I know by my download times that I'm not getting my full capacity.
