This was a great deal. I saw it on the cowboom email. I had decided last week that an i3 or i5 would be fine, whatever I could find a deal on. I actually was kind of waiting for a 14" laptop.

I have a 2600k desktop with an SSD, and when I add an SSD to this it will smoke as well.

There is a common misconception that you need an i5 or i7. The i3's are pretty awesome chips as far as processor benchmarks are concerned.

Anything above 2000 cpu benchmarks will be fast with an SSD. (google i3-2350m benchmark and i5-2450 benchmark). Add a 128 ssd and you will be booking.

HDD speed is your #1 concern. #2 is get one that has a 5+ hr battery life.

^the i3's that do not perform well are the ones that use HD Graphics 2000. This one uses 3000 so it's decent

Just got this laptop today. It is in perfect condition, it was rated a 7/10, but it is more like 9 or 10. Installed Windows 7 w/ SP1 using a spare 4 GB USB flash drive I had lying around using this tool: http://www.microsoftstore.com/sto...vd_dwnTool

I was up and running in like 20 mins. So far so good.

Ditto. Looks awesome. Seems to work great. I had to install Windows 7 using the recovery disk they provided, and now that I installed it, it seems like drivers fr just about everything are missing (HDMI, WIFI, LAN, Video - resolution is off, etc.). Samsung site had some of them, but not all. Any ideas, guys?

I did not even get a recovery disk so I had to install using the Windows 7 ISO link that someone provided a few posts up in this thread. I didn't have trouble with any missing drivers. I got all of them from the Samsung website. Here's the link to the site for this particular model

Also make sure you run Windows update. It will update a whole bunch of stuff as well.
