Yes; powerlifters and olympic lifters are okay using belts. I suppose if you are doing standing military press that would be fine, as well as with squats (Free weights; not smith machine). If you're seated obviously you have your bench for support. It is not good though to use wraps or belts to compensate for bad form... and sadly that is how I see most of them used. |

Has anyone tried these?
I had a pair of Harbinger gloves that lasted me about 2 years, were great quality and then somehow lost them. Replaced them with a pair of Nike gloves that I found at Dick's and they are crap. Using gloves and wrist straps when lifting has prevented soreness in wrist/forearms that I used to get, as well as helping with my form so if using them takes away my guy card, so be it. |
