Growing up with them on my super sweet Apple IIc, Ultima II and Ultima III are some of my favorite games of all time. It's funny how I can't remember what I had for dinner last week, but I remember every single little thing I need to do to beat Ultima II.

I played these games on an old-school 286 back in the day. While Id say the quality was not up to the regular Ultima series, I still have really great memories of both of these games. It was nice to play an RPG (and I loved the Ultima 6 engine), that didn't deal with all the typical enemies/setting. Grenading a dinosaur was awesome! And I dug the science nature of Martian dreams.
Clearly a spin-off, but a refreshing one. |

you can also play ultima 7 on exult so it runs on win7. ult7 and ult7 part 2 are probably my favorite games of the series. games took some serious skill to figure out the challenges

I believe these use the Ultima 6 engine. This is probably the best engine before they went downhill. They jumped the shark with Ultima 8.

Yes, most everything on GOG is DRM-Free and will work on current OS's.
