^It's not a must but it is better to do a fresh install for a SSD. Cloning a hard drive to SSD have some alignment issues or something like that but some cloning software can fix it.

How big is your SSD? As you see from other posters, installing a fresh OS is preferable. Except in the case of having software that can't be reinstalled without having to pay for it again, going with a fresh install may be a good option for you, considering all the time and frustration wasted on the attempted cloning. If you choose to do so and you don't have an installation disc, you can download Win 7 of the appropriate version from the internet, then use your present key. |
