I bought one of the black ones a few months ago. After my camera batteries "died", I took of the batteries and put it into my flashlight. The battery has worked fine and has been able to last all this time with minimum use.

Your tutorial sucks. All of his batteries - including the ones NOT in the flashlight would be dead at the same time if this were the case and since I seriously doubt that is the case, it's the flashlight. Every single one of these flashlights have done the same for me - no matter which brand of battery I've used. Cheap internal components - which the exterior of these lights seem very well made - cause this.

If you want to save your batteries, invert them and reinvert when needing to use the flashlight. I know that's a pain, but you're either replacing batteries every few months on a potentially little used flashlight, or you can do what I suggest - which is fundamentally the same thing but saving your batteries.

Great deal. I've had 5 of these now and they all are extremely bright and the batteries have lasted a long long time. Not sure what BrianC811 has been using, but mine have never drained the batteries when they were not on.

280 Lumens? Lol... sure. I love how all these no name flashlight mfgs just put a random lumen rating on their product. Without seeing the actual light, I'm guessing it'll probably put out half of that.

I got one of these (the ~$15 upgrade... not the $60+) a while back for my Mag 4D, and it rivals my Fenix PD32 in brightness at full blast.

I love these flashlights, can't get a brighter or sturdier flashlight for $10. $5.80/each is a great deal.

I pick a couple up every time they go on sale.

I buy em on ebay. I bought a set of 3 for 9 buck, free shipping.

It looks exactly the same as the ones here. single aa battery w/ focus lens.

Its quite bright. better than a the d battery mag light. Cree's are just more efficient. It does get hot if u leave it on for more than 15 minutes.

And the battery is drained in 3ish hrs of continous use.

Haven't had any issues with the battery being drained when not in use, Had my rechargable aa's in it for 6 months now.. going strong.

I have the black version, and the light works great!
