I don't care what anyone does with their computer. Just the time saved in boot and patching alone more than justify it at these prices.

I, for one, was amazed at how fast my media center responds after I got a 60 Vertex 2 1.5 years ago, and I record and play stuff off of WD Green's, so it's jus the OS on the SSD.

I just installed and patched Win8 RP in under 20 minutes on a Vertex Plus 120GB. Took 52 minutes with a Seagate 7200.11 320GB drive (same machine), which I would consider a middle-of-the-road drive.

OCZ = no for me. I already returned one of their crappy SSD's and got a Corsair, which has been 100% problem free.

I am all for cheap SSD's and considering picking up another for my HTPC but it won't be OCZ...

.. which is fine by me! There's one 15 minutes from my house and I was going there this afternoon to pick up a power supply anyway. For once an in-store isn't a sad face. Stick it Microcenter and/or Frys!

(I still think i'd trade all 3 B&M CompUSAs around here for a Frys or a Microcenter)

He was talking about other SSDs. This is obviously the exact same OCZ SSD from that thread, just 2 days apart from the Egg deal. None of the competitors to this drive sell for $60-70 for 120GB right now. When better SSDs than this sandforce are on sale for $60-70, then you'd be correct (Corsair Performance Pro, Samsung 830, Vertex 4).

Some of us were already using SSD and waiting for price drops. I was still on my 60GB Vertex 1 and when Vertex 3 launched about a year and a bit ago, it was $299.99 on Newegg. I wanted to upgrade to a larger sized SSD but $300 was way too much. For those who didn't have an SSD, your point would be valid. But for those of us who had been eyeing upgrade from a smaller/slower SSD, the wait was well worth it.
