CREDIT RELATED :How are my credit card habits? Any other credit suggestions?
I wanted to start a few different posts to get your input on a few different career/finance related questions I have. The first of those questions is related to my credit because I am contemplating purchasing a home soon.
Credit related issues:
I currently have 4 credit cards in my name
1: Bank of America Platinum Plus: $2500 limit, had this since I was 18. Hardly ever have a balance on this unless they send me some kind of reward for using it for travel or something.
2. Bank of America Cash Rewards: $7500 limit, Usually run up a balance anywhere from $400-$1700 every month. I use this for my everyday expenses
3. Bank of America Cash Rewards: $7500 limit, Use this for bills and work related expenses. Normal balance is $100-200 but that jumps up to $3000-$3500 during busy season when I am away for work.
4. Capital One Platinum Mastercard: $3000 limit, I use this one for international travel only. $0 normal balance except when I am out of the country.
All cards are paid in full every month with automatic payments. I was reading the other credit card thread and I was wondering if my usage could have a negative affect on my credit score.
Next issue is an outstanding balance that was never paid. An old apartment complex scammed me by charging me bogus charges when I left. Long story short, I am in the process (although not moving very swiftly ) of trying to get this off my credit report. I have removed my old addresses from 2/3 of the credit reporting bureaus and my next step is to ask them to prove the charge belongs to me.
I don't have any loans in my name or owe any money. I have never had a car payment (paid in cash) and I don't have a mortgage payment. Credit Karma has my rating at 750. Is there anything else I should do or change any of my habits to boost my score?
