If you're planning on getting it from Paul'sTV, get it directly from them as opposed to from them through Amazon. Now, if Amazon does offer this TV, they ough to price-match it. They'll give you the "must add $50-$150 for white glove delivery" crap, though. If you're trying to price match Amazon's Paul'sTV to Paul'sTV, then they'll definitely give you the "it's limited time only" because they haven't reflected the price on Amazon yet. Usually Amazon's Paul'sTV prices are a few bucks cheaper than directly from Paul'sTV. I have no clue why. |

I've been looking for a stand for an 82" though. The one I have is perfect, though. But I can't tell you brand because it was bought at WeekendsOnly, which is only in the Greater STL Metro area. It's 72" wide, and the 82" TV is 73.5" wide, so almost perfect. I've heard about people using the Omnimount Echo 63" and the Ikea Lack TV Unit, which I think is only $50 directly from IKEA. Ikea Lack TV Unit [ikea.com] Omnimount Echo 63 [amazon.com] By the way, disregard the price matching comments I made. I see Amazon sells it for $3,000. They should price match, but they aren't because Paul'sTV has not provided them with their updated price. And this is just my guess, not a fact. |

I'm still wanting a DLP, but looks like my house is a bermuda triangle for large TVs.
The last replacement arrived crammed in a van lying on the screen surface. It's not the seller's fault as they're unaware of who is delivering the TV. Furthermore, even though it's free shipping to us, the seller is paying for the shipping. So I can see how the seller would be upset as well. In my case, seller pays shipper for delivery. For second delivery, I asked the tv be delivered after 4:30pm. Shipper chargers extra for this, so seller paid, given the issues with the first delivery. Once TV arrived at shipper, shipper contacted a delivery company to deliver the TV since it's out of their delivery limits. I contact shipper to track order, who forwards me to delivery company. Delivery company tells me one man will be there the next day at some time. I explain this needs to be a two-man job. They have to get authorization from the shipper so that they can charge the shipper a two-man fee. Then, they said they needed to get authorization to charge the evening delivery fee. After the delivery company charged the shipper about $100 in fees, they crammed the tv in the smallest vehicle they had, however possible, and off they went. Of course, that's not professionalism at any rate, and when the driver arrived to my doorstep he already knew the TV was broken. He also did not arrived at the stated time, and had I not left an hour early from work, I'd not have been there to witness the mess of box they brought out. I don't know in these cases how everything works out. Is the delivery company the one that has to pay for the tv? is it the shipper since they hired out the one that has to pay the seller for the tv? or do they just reverse the shipping/delivery charges and then the seller uses insurance to get their money back? no idea. I do have to give it to the seller for being there the whole time. Last edited by jromankvcc; 06-24-2012 at 05:16 AM.. Reason: comments about image |

yup I already had a 72" solid wood stand that is perfect to fit center channel and many other things.
I should comment that the recommended stand height for an 82" DLP is around 13"-18". Mine is 22". Thought about cutting off the legs but, I'll have to make do. For a 92" DLP, the height is even more important. I believe this is in concerns on the fact that your head should be looking straight to the center of the TV. With the TV being of such dimensions, the center is quite elevated, and with a tall stand it'd feel like you're always looking chin up. That's just some piece of advice. I think it also has to do with off-center angles and picture quality, but I also think that the 840 series has a much better off-center permissibility, so... In other words, don't put this on a 30-40" stand. The smaller, the better lol. Dimensions 82"W x 55"H x 25"D Last edited by jromankvcc; 06-20-2012 at 01:20 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

and that's the another reason i want to buy directly from Amazon itself as seller not third party seller like paulstv, vanns, walk, etc. I might call local Paul'stv store if they honer the price.Edit: Also you should have gone for white glove delivery which is peace of mind where something is broken you always have chance to reject it. Calculations: Dimensions (H x W x D) - with stand 54.9" x 81.9" x 25" Actual Screen Height ~46" (calculated based width and 16:9 aspect ratio (82" * 9 / 16), or you can use pythagorean theorem to come up with close answer as well (x^2 + 81.9^2 = 92^2) )Bottom Panel = ~10" Center of TV = 10" + 46"(0.5) = 10" + 23" = 33" = 2'9" Average eye level = average couch height + 0.5 * average person's height = 12" + 0.5 * 66" = 45" = 3'9" Now regarding the deal, this is excellent considering this is the latest model 92". The 82740 (1 year older, also 3D) has been on salle occassionally for $1599, so this is $900 more for 10" extra. I know there is a big difference between a 55" LCD and an 82" DLP in terms of size, but does going from 82" to 92" really going make a difference in your viewing enjoyment? People buying this tv must either have too much money on their hand or are compensating for something ![]() I've been scoping out these Mitsubishi DLPs for a while. I've seen them in-person and they look great. Not sure if I'll jump on an 82" version or just get a 1080p projector.
