I bought both. I figured worst case, I can sell one for $60 and basically end up getting the other for almost nothing. Thanx.

So its probably not worth mentioning but on CC and compusa sites they give you a 'free' 6 month anti virus program. Its called Total Defense Anti-Virus 6-month subscription with ARS software download [compusa.com]. It is supposedly valued at $25. It auto adds it to the cart for either drive on those sites.
edit well that was fast...and a waste of 5 minutes...since you guys already SDed the drive OOS

I'm commuting so I'm right next door anyway. But nah, it should be fine since my parents don't install any apps (except on android) nor is there anything on the PC besides a million PDFs and quickbooks. Otherwise they just mainly use the laptop for everything else. But thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind. |

in 4 1 of non SE version.
was going to order both but thanks to you greedy SDers the SE version is OOS. $35 AR with Free S&H I've been using a 60gig SSD on my main PC for like the past 2 years and no problem with space OS and program wise. I got Win7 ultimate, and bunch of program in it. now I'm at 4gigs free left. but I use a 2nd drive for data storage anyway. Just to warn you guys. with windows updates it seems to bloat the size of the install. You can save space on your HD by: - disabling restore feature - disable hibernation - have less ram (yes have less ram) ex. if you don't need 8gb of ram stick with 4gb as when the system runs it will create a hibernation & standby file that is == in size to your ram. So if you have 4gb ram your stnd by and hiber file will take up 8gb of drive space. if you have 8gb ram standby and hiber file will take 16gb of drive space. =================================
My days as a sales person @ bestbuy Customer: This stupid phone I bought last week won't work right Me: So it's the phone thats stupid and not you right? Customer: I'm looking for an easy way to access my media files with my laptop when I'm in the yard. Me: Sports Authority is having a sale on walking shoes. |

Thanks! I got one of the non-SE drives, I just got a nice Crucial 256GB SSD for my MacBook, looking to use this one for something else. For $33 I don't have to decide just yet what machine I'll put it in, but it's good to have a spare SSD, even if just to put an OS on and install in a laptop as needed!
![]() Also as others have noted, the SE drive is Out of Stock

Just ordered a crucial m4 64g yesterday for $69. Ordered a non-SE one and debating whether I should cancel the crucial order or keep both.
Is crucial m4 a much better drive than this one to justify the price difference? Last edited by qilin; 06-21-2012 at 05:30 AM.. |
