eye doctors' 2 cents I am not bitter about these places, I could care less, I don't sell glasses. I just keep hoping that people keep buying these glasses so that my exam chair stays nice and full.

I ordered two pairs of eyeglasses from them about 3 months ago.
I was satisfied with the quality and delivery time. With that being said, I didn't purchase them for my everyday glasses, just extra glasses for at home and when I felt like changing up styles and colors. I got two pairs of glasses for $28.00 shipped. I received them in 5 business days. My final verdict would be, if you are buying these as everyday glasses, they will not stand the test of time and everyday wear. You do get what you pay for. If you are purchasing them for occasional wear, you can't beat the price. |

GlobalEyeGlasses - Horrible experience!
Before I share my saga, I'd like to point out that Global Eye Glasses has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Wish I had known that before I ordered.I sent two pairs of frames to Global Eyeglasses to have two pairs of lenses installed, each with a drastically different prescription. The correct frame for each prescription was clearly identified in the order. After about 3 weeks, I received my frames with the lenses installed into the wrong frames and SEVERE crazing (cracking in the AR coating) on one of the lenses. Screwing up the prescription is one thing, but when there is a nickel-sized cloud of cracking on the lens, there is no excuse for such a defective product leaving the lab. In addition, I'm also suspicious that premium lens I ordered was substituted with a lesser quality lens as the premium brand's water mark was missing from the lens. I sent the glasses back. Two weeks later I get en email saying that the "correct lenses are installed". I go back and forth with their lab manager who can't seem to give me a clear answer as to whether he is claiming they didn't screw up the first time or if they've remedied the problem. I eventually get him on the phone where he says he has the glasses in his hand and has tested them to confirm the correct prescription is installed. He reads the name of each frame and tells me the correct prescription. He also tells me there is no cracking on the lens. With this, I'm satisfied that they replaced the lenses and chalk up his inability to give me a clear answer to them being horribly unorganized in their return process. I receive the glasses a few days later WITH THE SAME SCREWED UP LENSES. The prescriptions were wrong and the incredibly obvious cracking was still there. The lab manager lied to me. There's really no way to honestly make such a mistake, especially with regard to the cracking. On top of everything, my wife's beautiful new Shuron frames were now scratched. Not to mention, that this meant they had just sat on our return for over two weeks without looking at it. We tried to give these guys yet another shot, but I'll spare you the details of the back and forth. We eventually decided to dispute our charges rather than subject our frames to them yet again. Given the horrible and seemingly dishonest customer service of Global Eyeglasses, I would recommend all consumers to stay clear. |

Hi All, I guess different people have different experiences. I am up to my sixth pair of glasses from these guys and I have no complaints. Go figure. I think it is really important to stress that people on low or no incomes who may need to find an affordable optical dispenser and who have an up to date accurate presciption may not be as finicky about customer service as those sending exclusive expensive designer frames to online businesses for some cheap lens refit. I live in Australia and I am no millionaire - far from it. I was using a wire twist tie to keep one arm of my broken glassess attached to the frames, suffering daily headaches and unemployed when I a friend put me on to these guys. The cheapest specs (frames and lenses) I could get locally were about US$110. Now I have work and a regular income again and have just received my sixth pair of glasses. The average price has been around US$23. To the docor who posted earlier, please remember that for some it is case of the devil or the deep blue sea - keep using faulty specs and damage your vision worse than you would risking 25 bucks to get a better cheap alternative? We don't all have the same options when it comes to health care. As a health care provider you of ALL people should be acutely aware of this. To anyone on a budget (and there are a lot more us these days!) who needs optical care at an affordable price I can only speak highly of this company and the affordable alternative they offer the world. I use standard single vision glasses and nothing fancy and have had no trouble with this company at all.

Something is definitely wrong with this thread. Most posters are extremely one-sided AND it seems they only created the SD account to make this one post. Even the GlobalEyeglasses poster seems to be lying without hesitation! How does he know the order numbers of the complaining posters to have a specific answer to them? Does he know them by their SD nicknames....? Maybe this GlobalEyeglasses account was created by the complaining poster(s) too.
I ordered from Zenni, Coastal, and 39dollarglasses and only CoastalContacts had the best customer service. I had terrible service with 39dollarglasses even with their A+ rating on NY BBB. I hope competition will weed out the bad seller's. I'm all down with cheap eyeglass joints for consumers. Hence, I encourage ppl to go to Walmart or Costco. I would never recommend online sites that originate overseas. But, that's just me. It's like I am certainly not down with buying drugs online from overseas companies. But, a lot of ppl don't mind. |

Eyeglasses were fine
I bought a pair of regular eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses from globaleyeglasses.com. They arrived in about a week. The eyeglasses were fine. The quality is cheap, but then you get what you pay for. For the most part, I only wear glasses at night after I take out my contacts, so cheap is okay with me. My last pair cost $350 at Costco's and I broke them in a month. The sunglasses were horrible. They made me feel dizzy and distorted my depth perception. Since I got them buy 1 get 1 free, I didn't feel like returning them, so I can't speak about their customer service. I would order regular eyeglasses from them again, but not sunglasses. But don't expect great quality.

I am currently still trying to get my order from this company! They have the worst customer service that I have personally experienced over the past few years of online ordering. I ordered a prescription pair of regular glasses (Bifocal) and also pres. sunglasses (single vision lens). The sunglasses arrived later than I expected, but I've still not received the other half of my order. However, no delay in them taking my money!
I ordered my hubby's glasses from EYEBUYDIRECT.com as they had the frames he wanted (also bifocals). They arrived earlier than expected, are awesome, and we've had no problems. I ordered his 2 days after mine, and he got his long before I even got the first half of my order. I'd personally recommend eyebuydirect instead of this company, based upon my own experience. I am sorely disappointed and will never order from them again. My order was not cheap...and yet the sunglass ear pieces are already wobbly, and the lens is loose. I paid about 150.00 for my order, so not the cheapest they offer by any means. I can only hope they get the bifocals right...can't imagine trying to get my money back and what a nightmare that will be! |

I had a good experience with globaleyeglasses.com. Received my eyeglasses today and they are just perfect. i love them.. I ordered two pair with standard $7 single vision lenses, only paid $25 for both the pairs with shipping. I received them within a week. They sent me email informing me the tracking information... so i suggested you to order one eyeglasses from this company.

I would NOT recommend Global Eyeglasses to anyone. I have never experienced such a terrible and the worse type of customer service available.
I ordered glasses from their web site and when it arrived in the mail, they were not the exact looking glasses as they had shown on their web site. To make matters worse, the lenses did not feel right when put on and I tried to view things. According to their web site they "offer a 30 day no questions asked 100% money back guarantee on all purchases from our site. If for some reason, you do not like the pair you received and would like to return them, we’d be glad to offer you a 100% refund on the product price." I was not satisfied with the quality and style of the glasses, and the lens, so I sent in an email requesting to get my money back on the same day I received the glasses. That was almost 3 weeks ago and they are still giving me a hard time. The customer service representative had first admitted that they had made a mistake in the lab when making the lenses, then in the next message they told me that there was nothing wrong with their lens and asked me to take my glasses to my eye doctor to check. The moral of this story is that no matter what the reason(s) of my request were, they should honor their policy and ask no questions and just accept the glasses back and refund me in full. I haven't given up yet and am still demanding that they obey their own rules and refund my money. |

While I'm never going to buy glasses from Global Eyeglasses, it would be helpful in this review process to know how strong buyers' prescriptions are, and what they are getting -- just reading glasses, plain sunglasses, or Coke bottle-thick prescription lenses. Stronger prescriptions, as well as ones with astigmatism, can cause quite a bit of distortion, particularly when made carelessly, and I wonder if this is a contributing factor to the either love or hate reviews we're seeing here?
