Which banks have completely fee-free checking accounts?
I'm travelling to New York some time soon - and hence a non-resident - and I'm interested to open a checking account for the purpose of getting a debit card so I can easily pay for items without carrying clumsy cash around.
A friend of mine has recommend CapitalOne, but it has a clause whereby the first 2 months would be free, but subsequently my balance has to be at least $300 daily to avoid being charged.
Just wondering if there's a completely fee-free checking account in the States with no restrictions like that?
