Tracking Luggage?
So I'm hopping on a flight next Thursday via United Airlines. United is known to be one of the worst offenders with lost luggage. Additionally, their mobile apps will help you with everything BUT tracking luggage.
Are there any decent ways to track luggage electronically? I have an iPad 2, a Macbook, an Android 2.3 phone and a Windows Vista laptop that I use as my primary computing devices, should there be any luggage tracking software available on any of those ecosystems.

Random ideas:
- Has anyone ever used GoKodes [gokodes.com]? It's basically a QR Code service that emails & sends you a text message whenever the Code is scanned. The one-time $9.99 service will tell you the geographical whereabouts of the Code.
- The challenge is that I don't think GoKodes can ship me the barcode in-time for Thursday.
- GoKodes is also useless unless someone actually scans the code. - I have a spare Android 2.2 cellphone tied to prepaid service with Virgin Mobile. Is there anyway that I can throw that into the checked luggage and somehow be able to track it?
