. I think I see where the confusion is, my MarkIV is a .380 as well(not the more common 1911 MarkIV I think you think I am saying I have?), and based on youtube reviews and gun mags I have read in the past, I thought that the Mustang was just a variant of the Colt .380 MarkIV Govt Edition I have, (and old one at that, the first revision I think), just like the Officers Model of the Colt .380 is (the variant of the Colt 380 I really want, but not cheap ). Is there a different Mustang that is not a nonmoving barrel design? That would be cool to know, I always thought that Sig were the guys that geniuses that put two great designs together with the P238 (half 1911, half tilting barrel, which aids in more reliable feeding given the barrel is at the same angle as the new round being puled off of the mag, as well as being easier to field strip ). I have attached pics with both of my .380s with the parts highlighted that are the differences that I am talking about with my MarkIV .380 and my P238, and the YouTube videos of a Mustang and a P238 field strip (a mustang vid I have seen before when I was researching BUGs, and I was down to a Colt, PPKS, or P238). Are people perhaps referring to the Mustang incorrectly, and there is another Colt Mustang that is exactly like the P238? If so, I have another item on my to get someday list . I Googled but couldn't find.Mustang field strip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18SivMgtq6w P238 field strip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BffhQgJeNaY P.S. I bought both of these used, the MarkIV for $200(!!), and the P238 (with EVERYTHING, the laser, the holster, the box, papers, etc.) for $500 when P238s were really hard to get, but they were both a little beat up(hence the prices), I did NOT do that to them, so please don't judge me on their condition . The guns I buy new look like they do the day I bought them for years after (except for my modding of course, but definitely no rust, oxidation, scratches, etc.). I may have a tiny scratch on one or two of my pistols and a nick on the furniture of my rifles (that felt like someone punched me in the stomach each time that happens), but overall I would NEVER treat any of my weapons as whoever treated the ones in these pics, even in the field/combat. I know that guns were built to handle abuse, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to abuse them, and it is certainly possible to not do so and use them as intended. I am still working slowly on these two to get them prettier and healthier, but not there yet. I am not judging others who do abuse them either, that is their right, it is their guns, I am just saying I don't because they are investments for me, and I like my guns looking pretty and new .

![]() and thanks for the people that don't hate because I like the color pink LOL! I definitely would choose what I like best, pink or not, but that if it DID come in pink, or I could add pink acc's, then that would be a plus. I have taken the classes and been trained properly to carry concealed, and normally don't even like the thought of guns, so I DO take them very seriously. I don't think I would want to carry it on my actual body, but in my purse, so that is why the revolver seems better, so it won't snag on the inside of my purse? I

What part of Western OR, some good shops to browse out here to see what fits you!! Also one thing to consider with purse carry is the time/work necessary to reach your gun and draw it. Most purses aren't exactly an example of prime organization!!

My wife and I have spent many days and several trips to the range testing many guns for her CC. What we found was the S&W Shield was the best fit for her hand and for size. They have it in 9mm and 40cal. She opted for the 40 for stopping power, but it is not the best gun for regular shooting. Few things to consider: Get the gun that best fits your grip. The smaller and lighter the gun, the bigger the kick as well as the harder it is to hold when fired. The revolvers are single stage triggers. Meaning you must pull the trigger hard to get it to fire each time. For my wife, this caused her to be off target and not reliable for her to stay on target. We opted NOT to consider .380's because the lack of stopping power and cost of bullets. Hope that helps! Oh, and you can look at these for hiding them: http://www.flashbangholster.com/F...lcome.html Last edited by cbr858; 06-25-2012 at 01:16 AM.. |

This is my first experience with them, but it was painless, actually great customer service. We had some credit card issues (my 2.9% fixed Citi expires this month, and 2 years ago or so when the banks were all sending letters to jack up peoples rates, Citi wanted to jack mine, or I could keep my current rate and the account would close when that day came, at the end of this month, and when I called Citi about why it was getting declined, they said alot of systems automatically decline CC's with expiration month=current month
). Anyway, they tried several times to reach me, which I consider a good thing, and once I called back I gave them a different card and they had it shipped out the same day. They were very nice on the phone as well. It should be here tomorrow (Sig 1911 C3 CrimTrace Laser Package), assuming it is new as advertised I am a happy camper. Those grips alone (and I am talking the plastic ones) are usually $200-$300, getting what I think will be the perfect carry 1911 (not too long, not too short, not too heavy, and not too light ) from my fav gun company for $835, received 2 days after paying for it, I am satisfied.
