can someone post the download link - i purchased through the hup and the place that says click this link to download isn't a link and when i put my mouse over it it has a embedded website in it but when i type it in there is no webpage. thanks and cheers!
I'm not sure whether the links are tied to individual accounts or not but regardless, they would likely take you to the same place where you are having problems now. Take a look at posts #765 & #770. It appears that evo3rs was trying to come up with a way to help someone else with this. You might try sending him a PM and see if he came up with a solution that would work for you. If I had faster internet access, I'd try and make the downloaded file available for you then you could just activate it with your key after installation but my speed is way to slow to make that practical (it's about 1GB in size). Hopefully, evo or someone else might be able to help you out with it or MS will get the link working again. Be aware that several other people were having similar issues last night and suspected it might be related to using a myspace account but I don't think that's clear yet (all posted around the same post numbers mentioned above).

I got a key off a member here, he uploaded it to Dropbox but that didnt work. So I went to Microsoft.com and just downloaded a office 2010 trial, the correct version and put the key in and it activated!

That's odd, did you guys received the license keys for MS Office?. If not maybe they're trying to block purchases from myspace email account. Both Windows and Mac download link works fine using IE and Chrome.
Finally got it to work with Chrome. Thanks

Good to know. Curious, did you get a key that had already been used by someone else or (pay) someone that had a working email address to get a new unused key for you? A side note .. wonder why the dropbox version didn't work .. seems like it would have?

I have a key I'm trying to give someone. The thing is, how do I get them the download link? I see above where maybe they could go to the Microsoft link and download the trial, but will they get exactly all the software that we got by using the download link?

Thanks.

I tried the Myspace address (resurrected my account from like 5 years ago LOL) about a week ago. Keeping my fingers crossed that the magical email may arrive in another week...but just in case (and I know this is a looooooooooooooooooooooooong shot), does anyone have an extra key?

I know...that is a rather ridiculous request...but ya never know. Smilie

Thanks.I appreciate your response. I had seen that site but my concern was this statement about the download:

60-Day evaluation expiration. This evaluation software will expire in 60 days after which it will deactivate and must be uninstalled before installing a purchased copy.

ETA: I'm going to try and see how uploading the app. file to box.net. It's halfway loaded now so hopefully it completes and works for the recipient. I would have just forwarded my email with link but it contains my personal info....name and address, etc.

Well box.net didn't work.

How are you guys sharing you keys and downloads?

ETA: Never mind...Yousendit works perfectly.

Is your myspace email already working for receiving email? If it is, it shouldn't take a week to get a response once you submit your email address for this promotion. I got mine right away. If not sure, try sending yourself an email from another account to your myspace account to test that it's working because if it's not, you aren't going to get a response for the MS Office promo. Also, make sure your myspace mail settings are set to allow incoming email okay.

Awwww, I wasted a whole week waiting!! Frown

I had originally sent an email to and from one Myspace account to another, and it went through both ways, so I then used it to sign up for the $10 Office deal.

Just to be sure, I just tried sending and email to my Myspace address from my Comcast email address and it was rejected. The mailer-daemon message said '<xxxxxxx@myspace.com> recipient rejected." I then tried sending one to my Comcast address from my Myspace address and it just never went through to Comcast.

I checked my account settings and both "Allow non-friends to send me new messages" and "Who can email me: Open" are checked.

Is there somewhere else to check?

Thank you! How disappointing. Frown

It looks like you've covered it. I have another family member in the same situation. Myspace might eventually still activate it but not so sure anymore. They did mine after about 3 weeks but still haven't on the other one and it's been a month at least. Btw, it was an older account too so I'm thinking about trying to setup another new one just to see if it matters. Kind of doubt it, though. Good luck.
