Actually the 76xx is a 2011 model where as the 77xx is the new 2012 model (just getting stupid technical here )

Good price on 5 handset though ( and considering no tax for most at Amazon an added plus) .

I have the 3 handset and I like these the least of all Panasonic phones I have owned. The sound clarity seems to fade, and that is not using the cell phone feature. I have read from others that the rechargeable battery should be replaced with a better one to help with that issue. The menu isn't best and is dumb. To check missed calls you have to click down, then click right, then click down twice again. All the other phones you just click down once. I was able to use this set with older Panasonic phones and only use one of these for the cell phone or call block feature. To do it over again I wouldn't buy it until they improved on some things. I paid around $75 for 3 set at Staples.

I liked the base had the LCD in the 76xx model series but I'm sure both have merits.

costco has this Panasonic 5 handset model KX-TG155 for $99 right now. It is regularly $129 but they are giving $30 off in this month's coupons.

On mine I just have to click left (CID) to display the number of missed calls, then up/down to view them individually.

If you are clicking up/down you are accessing the menu which is an extra step to get to the missed calls list.
