Why no love? I have the black one and it's an awesome nettop. I can play 1080p over XBMC and I also watch HD channels from a Ceton quad tuner that's hooked up to my server/htpc in the living room

You just need to pop in a cheapo SSD (I used a 60gb) and a 4gig stick of sodimm, both of which have been low in price lately... you can probably find both on sale for $60-70 combo, thus looking at just over $200 for a full, snappy nettop setup.

You would be the ideal candidate for someone to thumb up the deal.

Little tip with this PC. You can use a 8GB stick to get some extra performance out of it. (Yes I know the specs say 4GB, but the chipset supports up to 8GB).
I have 8GB in my black one and it runs like a champ.

Good to know. Picked up some Super Talent W1333SB8GV DDR3-1333 to try with this. (I figured this unit was spec'd out before 4GB SODIMMS were available).

Are you using this with 64-bit OS? Any observations from running this with 4GB vs 8GB?

Might just be the memory standard. To be quite honest, the $55 price tag for the black version doesn't seem to do justice. $140 is a hot deal. Remember, it's still a dual-core CPU and has the HD6310. With hardware acceleration, you can play 1080p movies. You just need to make sure you set up hardware acceleration correctly so that the GPU does the work as the CPU can't handle it through software... 720p is fine, but 1080p you have to use the GPU.

thanks for the reply. May you elaborate more about the memory standard? It looks like they use the same kind of memory. Another question is, can I use this system as a ordinary PC for word processing and pdf viewing?

I only got the info based on newegg. The white one showed DDR3-800 and the black showed DDR3-1066 as the standard. The difference is not worth the $$, not even close to it. Also, DDR3-800 might be wrong for all we know, but I don't think it will greatly impact performance at all, especially because it will probably just run tighter timings on the ram anyway when running the slightly slower RAM speed.

I do believe the machine will be fine for word processing and PDFs. The one thing you cannot forget is that you'll need to buy a stick of DDR3 SoDimm (laptop RAM) and a 2.5" (laptop sized, or an SSD) hard drive to get this machine working.
