We were looking at new dishes for everyday ware... how's Fiesta's durability compared to Corelle?

Durability wise, Corelle beats 99%.

Fiestaware is still nice as long as you don't throw them around.

I have never used Corelle, but my parents have been using Fiesta dishes every day for at least 20 years (with 3 kids in the house) and I can probably count on one hand the number of items that have actually broken, and those were tall drinking glasses...I don't think I've ever seen a plate break. I use Fiesta dishes & mugs myself for about 10 years and I've never had one break, even when dropped on vinyl tile over a concrete slab (stone or ceramic floors might be iffy). Some restaurants even use Fiesta dishes. The part I like about Fiesta is that, while the colors change from time to time, the style of the plates doesn't...so you can add to your collection later and they will all still stack nice in the cupboard.

I agree, Fiesta set is very pretty on the eyes but the bowls are shallow and the mugs have just one hole for holding it and not very comfortable to use as the mug is heavy. you'll be using three fingers at the bottom of the mug and coffee could be hot !!!

great deal! fiestaware dishes are (or least they have been for 50 years) really good quality and made in the USA I believe. dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe.

IMO corelle is junk compared. its usually made of a glass-like substance which can shatter or have sharp glass shards chip off

This is a great price for fiestaware and they are nice dishes. My only warning would be that the darker colors (especially the cobalt blue) show scratches from using utensils on them after only a short while. The lighter colors I have are still perfect; also they are very heavy dishes and take up a lot more room in the cupboard than everyday Corelle.

they did for me when there was 20% sale in-store. so got 20% on top of 20%. I have never been able to find a 30% printable coupon! max I've seen is 20% cpn, and I opened my k charge in store, and they were giving 20% when I opened my charge just a couple months before.

One tip for plate storage: Don't stack flat.
The unglazed bottom rims will scratch the eating surfaces of the plates below. Not a concern when covered by food, of course, but can mar their appearance on a set table.
