I have some Fiesta pieces handed down to me from my mom, who got married in 1957. My daughter and I both have mix and match Fiesta place settings. I have yellow, red, orange and green. LOVE the stuff!

I've been using the SAME ugly set of Corelle (Butterfly Gold) for about 30 years. The reason I'm still using them is that you can't break them unless you would intentionally throw them hard onto cement or another very hard surface (which has never happened to me). They usually don't break with normal use and clanging around. Corelle is hard to give up because they are so lightweight. If you want a heavy plate, Fiesta Ware is more like stoneware and I find that too heavy once you put your meal on the plate.

$17.50 is a great price. We Love Fiesta! Been using it for the last 2 years - no issues at all. We've dropped them several times and nothing has ever broken or chipped.. We have so much Fiesta we put our inventory in a Word doc so we know what color to buy next. Love the 24oz Gusto bowls - great for chili and cereal. Macy's typically has good sales. We're confident this stuff will last 2-3 lifetimes - heirloom quality. Here's what we've accumulated so far:
