Update:
The bird is still out there, and the mom (and/or dad) are still taking care of it. Today it seems to be spending a lot of time resting but it's still doing alright. It looks like it has grown quite a bit over the past couple of days as well (you may be onto something Iaaaiws, it's looking a little plump!). Hopefully it'll get the whole flying thing figured out soon. ![]() |

Probably because he was small and a poodle, not something they'd seen before. But a goose can injure an adult. Years ago I had a landlord who had his own pond on his land and the male goose went after him and hurt him pretty bad one time. Don't recall what his injuries were exactly but he had his arm in a sling for a few weeks.
An adult swan can kill a person. There was a guy killed not that long ago by a swan, it was on the news. Found it: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/04/killer-swan-blamed-for-mans-drowning/ Last edited by Zoe Moon; 06-24-2012 at 10:48 PM.. Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

Sounds like the little guy is doing ok, but should you need to take care of him down the line, you can hand feed him just like people do with parrots. instructions. [parrothatch.com]
And anyone beat up by a goose is a cat. I've been bitten by a goose - it doesn't hurt at all. My guess is people hurt themselves when they freak out that a goose is chasing them. |
