I'm a little confused. Will these work with my Macbook air 11inch or my Samsung series 7 slate. Wish there was a list of compatible computers.
it will probably work with your macbook air as long as you buy the mini displayport to dual link dvi adapter. It runs for about $70 on monoprice.com. I have it working perfectly with my 2010 model year mac mini.

how does the monitor look when playing games at 720p (exactly 1/2 scale, so should be no interpolation)? im fairly certain my 7770 cannot handle anything at 1440p

Is there a card where it has two Dual-Link DVI outputs for two of these monitors?

Bought the Achieva Shimian a month or two ago (love it) and thinking about getting another monitor.

Anyone getting a refresh rate of 59hz. When I change it to 60hz it just reverts back to 59.

Thanks. Are you actually running 2x QHD monitors at 2560x1440 each?

You'd be surprised how many video cards just say 2x DVI and then don't mention that only one of them is dual-link.

I just get the Q270 setup today. Everything works great. But why does the LCD screen produce lots of heat? As you know, I am able to feel heat radiates from the panel while I was using it reading the news online. Is it normal? thanks. Probably it's a noob question. I have never use a large LCD monitor in the past, instead I use laptop all the time. Does your Q270 have the same problem?

larger panels almost always produce more heat when compared to a smaller screen. you should get it calibrated and such, it'll turn down the brightness which produces less heat

Two questions:

1) Is there a consensus yet on whether you need a converter or a 110V power brick instead of the 220 it comes with? I know the 220 'works' with a standard power cable, but I didn't know if either a converter of a 110V power brick was recommended.

2) Similar question to the dual dvi cord coming with these monitors. I see a lot of people swapping out for aftermarket ones. Is it necessary, or kind of a wait and see how the one I receive performs?

Thanks =)

yes, those would, I was referring to the < $10 DP to DVI cables you see on ebay, those wouldn't work.

I've mentioned many times in the thread that those $60+ USB adapters would work.
Why not? Some of them say they support DP to dual link DVI-D.

The brick that came with this deal is fine. Same with the DVI cord(that I received), but you could always buy a better one from monoprice.

Displayport is single link. There is no way to split the signal without an active converter. They are playing word games in that the connector is physcially dual link, but the signal will still only travel over the single link.

Anyone know why the Catleap Q270 SE has suddenly jumped up in price to $400+? Price collusion, or some other factor? Seems the Catleap is no longer the one to get.

From one of the main sellers, it is a supply issue. They expect more in the next couple of weeks. We'll see because I want one.

It's definitely not a price hike due to collusion, etc. Greensum had to keep hiking until it was at a price nobody would buy because he was running out of supply quick. Hopefully though, this doesn't mean the prices will stay high even after supply arrives due to the increased demand during the shortage.

FWIW, Shimians are still very cheap and are mostly equivalent. Another point to support the Catleap supply shortage and not an overall price hike due to demand.
