I looked up this drive on Ebay and under completed listings for new ones it shows about $350-400. Is this deal that phenomenal?

wow, I just set up alerts for this drive at amazon at newegg and amazon last night
however, now looking more closely, what I dont get is the bad reviews of the 512gb drive. I have the 256gb drive in my work pc, and its flawless, single best upgrade for my laptop. The 512mb seemed to have alot of bad reviews back to back as of late. They tanking the price because it wont sell with its problems? |

I don't have any 512's of these, but all the 128's have been fine lately (new firmware just released and my last few orders have had that firmware too).
700 Total SSD's handled between two jobs. Plextor M3s, M5s, Crucial M4s, Intel 320s, and Samsung 470/830s are reliable. 2 M4 failure among ~200 of them. Sandforce Sata II controlled drives, 6 RMAs among ~175 units. There, now you know why I post like I do, professional, personal experience.

Since drives half this capacity have been selling now for $0.70 per GB or less, I'd expect this one to sell for less per GB. Amazon has been stubbornly selling it at about $0.80 per GB, so at least it's good to see Newegg challenging that. This fish is still ignoring the bait, though. This price slide is not done yet, UNLESS all of you mules get impatient and grab the carrot.

I'm waiting for one of these exact drives for under $300 myself. At the rate they are falling in price I don't expect to wait more than two more months.
