Interior looks fugly. Not sure about the exterior but hope it's not as fugly as the Acuras.

We just got a 2012 Accord Coupe. Thing is a sexy beast. I thinking it was a complete waste of $30k to be honest (got the stupid $2k navigation system..NOT my choice).
It feels dated though. Screw Honda. $30k and it doesn't even have bluetooth a2dp. Apparently...that's reserved for their Acura line. Go fark yourself Honda. EDIT: For the record..I still think the sedan looks ugly as sin. For 2012 anyway it looks old and dated. Only the coupe looks gorgeous. Last edited by dzap; 06-24-2012 at 11:53 AM.. |

This wasn't the case nine years ago when I started shopping for a new car. I looked seriously at both the Camry and Accord. The Camry, while nice, felt a bit bland and boring to me. When I went to test drive the Accord, everything about it felt more high-tech to me. When that awesome dashboard lit up when I put the key in, I was sold. Oh, not to mention it drove well too. (And the fact that the Honda dealer quoted me a price almost $5,000 less than the Toyota dealer for a comparably equipped vehicle sure helped.) I drove an '09 Accord for a day as a loaner, and it felt much cheaper than my '04. The materials seemed lower quality, and the dashboard, while similar in appearance, did not have the same quality of backlighting as my '04. (I still love how the dashboard in my car lights up from almost totally dark to super bright when you insert the key. The dashboard in the '08-'12 gen does not start out dark, and the backlighting is not as bright and sharp.) Honda better get in the game. Real quick. That 2013 Altima is real purdy, inside and out. Based on the pictures show of the '13 Accord so far, this isn't going to be much of a contest. |

Truth be told, it's just the cost pressure and the exchange rate finally catching up with the Japanese auto manufacturers. It's happening to KIA and Hyundai now too.
It's fun to see the economic imbalance finally starting to wreak havoc on them.

I guess that might seem to be a neat feature for the truly lazy. Probably costs a lot for this option too. Last edited by zzyzzx; 06-25-2012 at 05:51 AM.. |

And I doubt it costs all that much. I'm sure it comes in one of their packages that have dozens of really cool features for a few hundred bucks.

For example, the Escape is available with a hands-free rear liftgate where you just have to wave your foot under the rear bumper and it opens by itself. To get that you have to spend $1895 for the package that includes it. For what it's worth it was worth all the while

That's a lot. I think that's more than like, twice as much as any package that I was looking at on my car.
