My vertex 3 is still backordered.
Any idea how long this will be? Tigerdirect was quite good in the past, I felt that their service is getting worse. I usually can get my order the next day, now they're using UPS surepost for the ram stick I ordered, transfer to the local usps, and I have to wait for one more day for delivery. Backordered my ssd. Sigh

I have a 60GB that I got on Black Friday. Before doing anything with the drive, I updated it to the most recent firmware. Since then, I've installed Windows onto it and have used it as my boot drive. It works perfectly, is absolutely screaming fast, and I haven't had a single BSOD or hiccup. This is a great deal and I highly recommend these drives.

The Vertex 3 120gb was selling for 79.99 - 10 mir = 69.99 earlier this week @ newegg.
Then is this even a deal at all? Wait till the 4th of July sale; I bet 120gb SSDs will be $50 without any rebate hassles. |

Is this a retail package with converter for desktop? and how long is the warranty?

Ordered one from Staples, used my rewards that were expiring next week and a $25 off 100.
PM is giving me back $45. I'm keeping fingers crossed it gets approved. Should end up getting it for $60 (- my rewards; +tax) If the rebate goes through (it says ALL resellers) we're talking $45 (-rewards; +tax) Weeeee |

I have 60 GB Agility 3 in my Thinkpad which is about 6 years old. Gave a new life to laptop that was collecting dust in corner of my room.
Had it about 3 months without any issues. Not even one single BSOD or computer hanging. Waiting for larger version (256 or 512) to fit my means |

Is a SSD worth going with as a boot drive for a desktop, or would there be a better option? Seems like most people are buying these for their laptops and then something like the 500gb barracuda for desktops?
