I'm probably being too OCD about this, but most of the models I looked on Amazon have numerous complaints about buzzing/dying after x weeks/etc.so I'm turning to slickdeals. Anyone have any suggestions for good budget computer speakers? I trust your opinions more Big Grin

It's a shame I didn't see this post before I purchased as I have the T40's myself and really like them (I'm buying speakers for someone else). How do the Swan's compare with the T20's/T40's?

I ended up going with Logitech S220 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6836121014

And in case you're willing to go up to $75:

Yea I tried doing this before but too many conflicting reviews. I ended up going with the S220 which seemed to have the best ratio of good to bad and also had 1500+ reviews.

From the few reviews of the Swan H2, they're great compared to the T20/40 in clarity with no static noise.

You have to be careful with user reviews. Many people have unreasonable expectations, or they are looking for the Dr Dre or Bose style boom-boom-boom sound signature instead of clear sound. EVERY product ends up getting bad reviews here and there.

Did you always intend on buying fuller sounding 2.1 speakers?

I use cheap $25 cheap 2.1 speakers(Altec Lansing BXR1121) too. The only mod I put on the sat. speakers is 1 linear waveguide [wikipedia.org] that makes the sound more focused than the stock form. When my cheap speakers die, I'm upgrading to the..
