What printers on the market today do not require you to change ink cartridge when the software indicates Low?
I'm thinking about getting a new printer but the one I have now doesn't require that the cartridge be changed when the printer software indicates that it is low. I can go on printing until the pages lose quality, then I change the cartridge. I've read that a lot of the new printers won't print when the system indicates that the ink is low. Any recommendable printers that don't do this?

Don't use HP. If one of their ink cartridges is out on any of their models then it will not print until it is replaced mainly because any print job can could contain any of the colors at any time so if even one cartridge is out, then it could affect the entire print job so they make it to where that will not occur.
Otherwise, I'm not sure of any offhand though some printers have an override in their control panel or will print when set to monochrome from color. |

I have a canon mx870 that will allow me to print for as long as I want, though I have to confirm each time I want it to print while ink is low. The ink cartridges can be refilled, though if you want it to properly track ink levels you have to buy a chip resetter. Even better, there are really, really cheap generic refills on amazon.

I have a MP830, but the time scale to replace cartridges doesn't satisfy me; sometimes you can just squeeze the cartridge to allow the printer to print even when the software indicates low.
BTW, Lucky for those that have good experience with Canon. I can't afford genuine cartridges; that's I was resort to non-OEMs like LD Products and eBay; But Page-yield remains questionable. I was going to make a new thread but thought of asking here; anyone knows of any good non-OEM ink manufacturers? I just placed a recent purchase with eBay seller, "sourceofink" How is eBay or other non-OEM ink? |

http://www.123inkjets.
The only source I've ever used. But there is also Staples, Bestbuy, Office Max, Office Depot, you know, the usual suspects. |
